Visual artist - Light - Video
Emanuel Nijkerk (1998) is a light- and visual artist. Next to his jobs as a light and video technician Emanuel makes designs for theater, concerts and festivals. In the past years he also started to develop as a light artist with a strong passion for using spatial perspectives in his performances and installations. For that Emanuel uses light and video as a tool, he integrates this in cross links between other art forms and media. With that you could think of audio, camera and other digital sensors which all come together in one narrative. Performing live and being able to change things on the spot is an essential element of Emanuels vision. In that sense he tries to create organic symbiosis between the design and space around it. This often leads up to larger than life experiences forming organic dialogs between the work and the space around. Collaborating with other artists/performers highlights an important part of his career. For example iNNeR PeaCe, where he creates audiovisual synergies on stage together with musician Kris McDonald. Emanuel worked as a visual artist for STOOR, Draaimolen, DGTL Amsterdam, Weval, Chris Stussy, Wende Snijders, Altin Gun, Dekmantel, Yousuke Yukimatsu and others.
